The Paper Trail is a paper sculpture made using pieces from my previous paper animation projects; Evolucity, Unlaced, Frolic, and Pow Pow.
The work is installed from the ceiling, and it is lit with digital projections. The juxtaposition of the digital images, the ascii code and the audio, with the paper is eerie, yet brings to question what our digital trail will resemble without paper.
This video is documentation of the installation.
The Cyclotrope Circus had the pleasure of being shown at the Maison des artistes visuels francophone (MAVF) Pop-up Gallery at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival this summer. WHile we were there we made a little video documenting the installation. You should certainly ‘give it a spin!’
Amazing luck!! My film, Evolucity, played at the Gimli Film Festival this year. Gimli puts on a fabulous festival, complete with a projection screen in the water and a beach filled with spectators. A big thanks to the National Screen Institute, and Liz Hover for considering Evolucity for their Short Animation Series.
Jacquelyn Hébert & Nathalie Coulson have been installing the Hula Tree at the Winnipeg Folk Festival for the past 8 years, but this year they asked me to join in on their collaboration!
It was a hula-va good time
